Welcome to the Salt Spring Centre School!
I am excited to be taking on the role as Principal at this wonderful school. Since I started teaching here in March 2010, I have felt a strong connection with the school families, students and staff. It was a natural next step for me to move into a leadership role.

I received my Masters in Education with a concentration in leadership in June 2010. This program was tailored specifically for those desiring to work in the role of principal so I am exited to put my learning into action. Working together as a team with the school’s experienced staff, board and families, we can explore new possibilities and challenges as we carry on the wonderful traditions that make our school unique.

The Centre School is non-denominational independent school with over 25 years experience serving island families. Our small class sizes and multi-age classrooms allow us to offer enriched academic, social and emotional programs, as well as individualized learning for students. We are so fortunate to be located on 70 acres of meadow, garden and forestland in the heart of Salt Spring which give our students wonderful educational opportunities and nurture everyone at the school.

Being a parent myself, I can see that children really blossom and thrive at our school and I cherish the rich learning environment created by dedicated teachers and committed parents.

As a B.C. certified and inspected school with talented teachers, we have an excellent record of addressing the intellectual, emotional, and social needs of individual students. With a maximum of 15 students in each class (12 in Kindergarten), plus a number of support staff, children are able to get the attention they need to develop their full potential.
